12:13 am - God hates laissez faire growth policy

More like pray for GRTA to do what it was originally intended to do.

After 8 hours of cranking out assignments and reading, something lighter:

11:17 pm - June update!
1. Internship @ MARTA fell though. Too angry to ellaborate.

1.5. Luckilly, Fenton came through and I have a backup plan. I'll probably start next week.

1.8. Unfortunately, for the first time in 3 years, I'll have to actually pay for train rides....which could be moot anyway as I could end up driving for a little while.

2. Moving soon, and bought a crap ton of IKEA merch to prepare. Feel free to stop by in a few weeks and say hello to BILLY and MIKAEL. God you gotta love dorky swedish furniture line names. Also procured a couch from a nice chap on craigslist, and somehow (with the help of two girls) managed to push it up two flights of stairs and into my apartment. Thanks [info]jivekitten, you win a free dinner tommorrow night for your team spirit. Renting a U-Haul was a nightmare, the castleberry hill store has crap customer service.

3. The folks who used to live in the aptartment we're moving into were complete crack/meth/whateverheads and pretty much trashed the apartment. Spray painted graffiti in the kitchen, smoked, broke a door or two, painted over the exposed brick (an offense which should be punishable by death) and left the place in a general mess. Kind of takes the glow out of the fact that this will be a relatively easy move as it is from apartments within the same building. My landlord and maintenance guy are both great and I'm glad I got to stick with them. I just hope in the future the landlord will be a tad more selective and keep the trash in the dumpsters and away from any lease.

4. The good folks of Inman Park have made me the new vice president of planning for the neighborhood association. Hopefully I can make a decent contribution to the neighborhood and make a few friends along the way. So far, so good, as I'm organizing an effort to improve bus service in the neighborhood and have met plenty of nice people in my few months of experience with IPNA. There certainly exists plenty of local planning issues to tackle, so I have a feeling I am about to become an expert in the fine art of delegation.

5. My favorite local issues blogger is moving to NYC. I hate how all the talent seems to migrate north. Not that I could blame anyone, with the political situation here. Atlanta is going to have to seriously push me out, as I am going to make a go at making it a nicer place to live.

6. This is my last semester at GSU. Finally!

7. NPR needs to lay off that stupid ratatat song between every damn news story. For real. Please cut it out. Now. There is a reason why the Florida panther is nearly extinct.

8. Great, now I have that equally dumb Peter, Bjorn & John song that NPR also plays alot in my head now. I gotta cut back on my NPR consumption.

3:18 am - A helluva engineer!
So get this:

I got accepted to Georgia Tech's city and regional planning program!

I'll have a masters degree in two years.

And to top it off, they'll pay me to goto school, as I've been awarded a graduate research assistantship...which will both pay my tuition and throw 550 bucks a month my way in exchange for 13 hours of research a week.

As spacemoose would say, fuck ass.
